[ The Women Upstairs – Review ]

The novel The Women Upstairs is a true little work of art.

Every sentence is important and all 150 pages require concentration. Although at first glance the story seems simple and banal, with each page you will discover its value.

Six women who bear the names and characteristics of heroines from classic literature will guide you through a novel that begins with the discovery of a dead body in an apartment.
Each of them tells their own life story and each of them interweaves the lives of other characters into their story in a very interesting and entertaining way.

Although entertaining, this book is not at all an easy summer read. From the initial police investigation, we return to the beginning and step by step we discover what really happened in that Zagreb building. Femicide, the position of women in society, motherhood, addictions, needs and fears are just some of the topics that this book covers so well!

Another discovery from the domestic literary scene and another domestic author who deserves more space among bookstagrammers and readers!
